Let’s talk about sex baby......but not vaginas

www.beautyheaven.com.au research shows that what lies beneath, is actually unknown to many Aussie women.
While women regularly talk to girlfriends about the intimate details of everything from sex and relationships to periods and male body parts, new research shows almost half (45%) the female population have NEVER spoken to a friend about their own vagina and one in five (20%) don’t know what it’s meant to look like.
The research, from beauty and health experts beautyheaven.com.au, revealed that 50% of females now worry about whether their own vagina looks normal, with one in seven (14%) considering going to the extreme of vaginal or labial plastic surgery to fit in with what they imagine to be right.
Over half (53%) of women have never seen a vagina in real life (other than their own), with 1 in 5 (22%) having only porn to compare themselves to and 1 in 6 (15%) only seeing another vagina in school science videos. Many are even too embarrassed to say the word vagina and have given it another name so they don’t have to mention it, including vadge, va-ja-ja, lady bits and fou-fou.
Commenting on the research Carli Alman, Editor of beautyheaven, said: “Women don’t know how to broach the subject with friends and feel uncomfortable bringing it up - let alone talking about it. It seems it’s easier for women to talk about men’s anatomy rather than their own.
“Lots of women don’t know what they are meant to look like down below, which could lead to some having unrealistic expectations on what they should look like. And as our research shows, some are even considering invasive surgery.
beautyheaven.com.au has also created an entertaining “top 11 things you didn’t know about your vagina”including everything from how it works to keeping it healthy.

The research was conducted by beautyheaven in November 2014 on a sample of 1004 females across Australia.
