INCREASE YOUR VITALITY THIS WINTER

INCREASE YOUR VITALITY THIS WINTER

Day to day stress, exposure to toxins, lack of healthy foods all deplete our systems leaving us feeling moody, out of balance and less energised.  The good news is by embracing some healthy changes you can be back to feeling energised and leading the life you truly desire.

Pamella Zakostelsky, Naturopath and co-founder of Miss Vitality explains seven ways you can increase your vitality so you can feel rejuvenated and energized.

1.    EATING SUPERFOODS: Good nutrition means eating a variety of foods every day. As our lives get busier, time for good food preparation is not always our priority. Today's woman can be stressed and inflammation can precede tiredness and we want to keep our energy high. Women need greater amounts of certain nutrients than men, particularly iron and calcium. Menstruation, pregnancy, lactation and menopause are times of increased nutritional demand. Poor diets can cause increased toxic load in our internal environment, congest the bowel and limit the absorption of key nutrients and minerals. Large quantities of foods like tea and coffee with high levels of caffeine can interfere with the absorption and excretion of important minerals.

2.    EXERCISING PROPERLY: Lack of exercise and even excessive exercise, too much alcohol and smoking increase the acidity in the body. Too much exercise when we are already stressed can exhaust our adrenals even more so we must do some exercise if we are stressed like yoga or Pilates to lower our cortisol.

3.    SLEEP AND REJUVINATION: On average, an adult needs 6-8 hours of sleep every night in order to function properly every day. Going to bed early and waking up early will help you to feeling great. People associate having a hot bath with some aromatherapy oils like Ylang Ylang before bed will help them to relax and sleep easier, however, the body needs to cool down in order to receive a good night sleep. Bathing two hours before bed, sleeping with a fan on or window open will allow the body to cool down to rest properly. A cup of relaxing herbal tea also helps to calm for a tested sleep.

4.    CONSIDER A NUTRIENT RANGE SUCH AS MISS VITALITY: The Miss Vitality range incorporates a CLEANSE range and ANTI-AGEING range, and is for those wanting to enhance their homecare skin regime, reduce toxic damage and free radical exposure, and ultimately feel rejuvenated and energized.

5.    HYDRATION: Staying hydrated and drinking water is the body’s secret weapon to stay health. Drinking water provides an individual with many benefits as well as misusing those excess calories. Water benefits include; flushing out by-products and toxins, keeps the skin moist preventing aging, dry skin and infection, hydrates muscle and joints and prevents injuries during exercise, allows the body to maintain temperature, improves blood flow, healthy bowl function and strengths the brain.

6.    SELF-CARE AND TAKE CARE: Taking time out for you to self-care is essential for mental health. Participating in yoga classes, reading a book, relaxing and listening to soul soothing music, meditation classes or downloading meditation apps can allow the body and mind to relax and be taken away from stress or anxiety.

7.    FUN IN THE SUN: Getting 10 minutes of sun most days will provide natural vitamin D. The sun is a mood and energy enhancer.
