Skypax - International online shopping reveals Australians spend $3.96 billion per year on purchases

International online shopping reveals Australians spend $3.96 billion per year on purchases

A recent study has shown that an increasing number of Australian consumers are opting for shopping online. The NAB online retail sales study of July, 2014, has revealed that Australian consumer online purchases totalled $15.59 billion, with $3.96 billion of that figure representing international sales.

The findings of NAB’s research demonstrate a sharp increase in online shopping compared to a similar study undertaken in December of the previous year. That investigation found $14.7 billion was spent shopping online, with a considerably lower percentage of international purchases.

This increasing national appetite for purchasing from international outlets highlights a growing trend with Australian consumers. These online buyers are seeking high-quality retail fashions, electronics and home wares from international suppliers who provide a greater range of products at more competitive prices. The Australian Bureau of Statistics recently reported that over half of the population prefer the convenience of being able to ‘buy online where possible.’ This growing number of online consumers will undoubtedly want to take advantage of an innovative new method of accessing international retailers that don’t ship worldwide.

At last, a London-based shipping company called Skypax offers the perfect solution for Australians wanting to purchase from online stores with no international shipping facility.  Skypax is a convenient UK parcel forwarding service employed by many Australians. This company offers a comprehensive packing, shipping and concierge shopping service. Previously, Australian consumers have been predominantly locked out of the UK online market due to the unavailability of international shipping. Skypax solves this problem by providing Australians with their own UK street address for all their online shopping deliveries, which are then reshipped to their designated address down under.

Based in the heart of the world’s shopping capital, Skypax prides itself on the careful handling of packages and customs documentation, ensuring shipments are delivered to its customers in a timely fashion.

Skypax is the brainchild of Australian actor, Marcus McSorley, who launched the company from his small London apartment. Since then Skypax has seen successful growth based on a creative solution to supply and demand. The company now operates from a large warehouse and employs 12 members of staff. Skypax is the ultimate bridge, connecting online consumers to international UK retailers such as Amazon, Ebay UK, Argos, Currys and TKMaxx.

“We are more than just a parcel forwarding company, we can also make purchases on behalf of our clients from online UK retailers who do not accept international credit cards. In addition, we offer a concierge service of buying in person from UK stores and shipping to any worldwide address. Popular purchases include fashion, beauty, parenting brands, technology, car parts and specialty wine,” says Marcus.

For Australian online shoppers, this is extremely good news. There is now a convenient way to purchase from UK online retailers, and have the products safely packaged and delivered in one shipping transaction. This reduces the costs of shipping in a safe and secure transit process, making purchasing online more convenient. Regardless of whether the retailer accepts international credit cards or offers international shipping, Skypax makes this process possible.

The small and dedicated team at Skypax currently services over 7000 registered customers and consistently invests in the latest technologies to provide the best customer experience. Customers can now enjoy their own account portal on the website, allowing them greater security and total control over transactions and shipping requirements.
