Katy Perry is doing it, Kate Bosworth is also doing it and Pink has definitely done it! What you may ask? Expressing themselves through hair colour – neons, pastels and a kaleidoscope of rainbow hues that are big this summer. QLD Hairdresser of the Year, Bill Tsiknaris from Tsiknaris Hair says vibrant hair colours and colouring techniques, including dip dying and highlighting are massive this season.
For those savvy fashionistas without a hair stylist on hand there is an easier and less permanent way to achieve the look using
COLORSMASH Hair Shadow, a new temporary hair
colour and the answer to the latest colouring trend, hair chalking.
colour and the answer to the latest colouring trend, hair chalking.
COLORSMASH Hair Shadow by Condition Culture is a temporary hair colour that adds vibrancy and colour to the hair with no commitment.
“As
hair professionals we wouldn’t normally recommend our clients
colour their own hair, but the COLORSMASH product is temporary and
after just a shampoo or two there will be no trace. A woman’s hair
is her ultimate accessory and COLORSMASH provides the flexibility to
create a new weekend look, a stylish party statement or a school
formal transformation where all traces will be gone by Monday,”
Bill said.
Apply COLORSMASH by
“smashing” the desired section of the hair, sealing it with
spray, and washing it out. Initially introducing nine vibrant
colours, COLORSMASH is an answer to craft
pastels and chalks and was specifically created for use on hair with
no harmful chemicals. COLORSMASH was inspired by this season’s ‘it’
trend of dip-dyed tips and hair chalking. Use just one colour to get
a cool ombré affect or multiple colours to really stand out.
Bill’s Top Tips:
Tip 1: Choosing the
colour
Depending
on the effect you are after, whether it’s to shock or to create a
highlighted look on solid hair colour, choose a colour you would love
to have but have never been daring enough to try. For dark hair try
green, purple or blue. For blonde hair, pastels are big so soft pinks
and blues are very popular.
Tip 2: Applying the
colour
Take
a section of hair and apply your chosen COLORSMASH colour under or on
top of the hair while using your thumb on the other side of the hair.
Then press your fingers together and slide the colour down the hair.
The pressure you apply will make a different to intensity of colour.
Applying
the colour in dots as you work down the hair will give you a soft
result, applying pressure all the way down the hair will give you
more of an intense look.
Then
spray the hair with hair spray to seal in the colour. Iron to get a
shinier result.
Colours include Atomic
Yellow, Electric Beat, Je Ne Sais Quoi, Rags to Riches, Firecracker,
So Jaded, St. Martini, Oh La Lavender, and Tango Mango.
